I wish you did England gin or something like that (clear bottle with red dressed solder) just to see your face expression :-)

Beefeater was supposed to arrive from their PR agency months ago, I'm still waiting :)

Will Jennifer be posting comments/replies here as well?

P.S. It's second time, when Jennifer says ABV wrong :P

very informative. when you do another gin episode I'd love to hear what your senses have to say about rogue spruce gin.

thanks guys. keep the spirits flowing.

Awesome, thanks! I'd also like to get Amsterdam Gin, which was suggested in a recent iTunes comment. I only have a sampler bottle and really loved its taste.

  • http://everydaydrinkers.tv Derrick Schommer

I will send her this comment so she knows :) But, she's not a big commentor in general :)

You should get one bottle just for fun, everytime someone comes over, I say something like: hey, try this, take a shot

And just laugh my arse off watching their reaction… It's just sooo bad, oh wow, the only alcohol I can't drink straight.

I've taken tours with the Beefeaters in London (at the London Towers), nice group of people. The history as to why they are called Beefeaters was pretty good too. Apparently they get heavy discounts on gin in London as well!

  • onkelandy

Gratulations for the episode, though I would have loved to see some tasting of Beefeater, too ;) And probably Gordon's or Plymouth.. There is also a more expensive “No. Ten” from Tanqueray out there. Maybe it has even more juniper ;)

Some price info again. Funny enough in Austria and Germany the Tanqueray and Bombay do have the opposite price level. So we need to pay about 26$ for 0,7l Bombay and 37$ for the same amount of Tanqueray.

Tanqueray is more costly than bombay!? That's ridiculous!

It's a BLIND tasteing. When you guess to identify the spirits, and then announce that you HATE that spirit, you render the whole thing alot less interesting and unbiased. Just my opinion, overall I love all 3 sites and am an avid watcher/listener.

  • http://everydaydrinkers.tv Derrick Schommer

Well, the beauty is that I can hate on it all I want, I could be 100% wrong. I take the risk of saying I hate something and it being something completely different in the end. Regardless to what I “think” is what, there is no proof until the end that I was right or wrong.

Thankfully, in this case I was right. But, I can't see how guessing something and saying I don't like the brand that much makes it unbiased when I don't actually know what I'm sipping :) I can make an estimated guess but that's all it really is.

  • Dwayne

I am really sorry if my comments sounded hyper crttical, that was not my intention. When you say in advance that you know you hate a particular spirit and then rate it near the bottom, it might be better to say I don't like X spirit, so I will not be rating it, because in essence you already have.

I have that, the sell reminds me of forest and tress and plants iono why

now i can't get the smell out of my senses every time is step outside to smell tress haha

  • http://everydaydrinkers.tv Derrick Schommer

I understand what you're saying, but it doesn't always fall to the bottom. I dislike Bacardi too but it made it through two rounds of light rum :) I understand what you're saying, which is why I didn't want to run it through a non-blind tasting as I think that would really toss it off. I was just seeing if I had the power to actually call it and get it right :-) (esp. since my success rate is so low)

Next, I'd love to prove that with blanco tequila and patron as I'm not a fan of patron. We've just got sooo much tequila.

once again u seem to have forgotten about BEEFEATER.
im glad ur audience seem to notice lol
    loving this channel btw

Beefeater will make a future london dry show.

Broker's by far is the smoothest gin I have ever seen.
    http://www.brokersgin.com/
The price is spot on, and I have never tasted anything quite like it.
If you're looking for Perfection, beefeater has perfect balance and distinguishable taste.
For a martini, there is no better gin then Plymouth, which is Winston Churchill Staple.
Don't ever use vermouth in a martini, you want to taste the essence of gin.

  • http://everydaydrinkers.tv Derrick Schommer

Churchill put the bottle near his martini but not into it, right? :)

  • Justicio

He would look at the bottle of vermouth or wave the bottle over, but he swore by no vermouth.I have to agreee with him. HOWEVER, if you ever want to try a drink that Unites the clans.
    The Vesper.

Dry martini. Wait… three measures of Gordon's; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel.

    As seen here,

I did an open taste test on variations of the Pink Gin cocktail to compare bitters. The Pink Gin is simply gin and bitters that make it pink. I compared Angostura aromatic bitters, Regans' Orange No. 6, and Peychaud's. Peychaud's is the only bitters that made it pink. Regans' seemed to need an extra couple of dashes.

Angostura – cloves and a classy good scent
Peychaud's – more fruity, not quite as strong a scent
Regans' – seems less potent, but has a good scent

Unlike the other contributors and Winston Churchill, I felt a little dry vermouth improved the taste.

I am looking for Towers of London Gin
