ABV 10: Woo Woo Vodka Cocktails

We’re mixing the Woo Woo recipe with our vodka brands: Tito’s, Christiania, Absolut, Smirnoff and Gray Goose. The recipe we’re using for this tasting is:

Woo Woo

  • 1 1/4 oz. Vodka
  • 3/4 oz. Peach Schnapps
  • 3 oz. Cranberry Juice

    I believe you should give an equal splash of ice cold water instead of using ice, so that when tasting, they would all be diluted the same.

    P.S. No idea why Americans pronounce Smirnoff in that weird way :-) Shmirnoff or whatever. This time, it was pronounced correctly though.

    We diluted them the same, have for a few episodes. What we started doing is shaking and putting them in the glass then dropping the ice in there right before we roll tape. That way one doesn't get watered down. Jennifer thought of that :)

    Well, I have no idea how to write spelling, but my guess is: Smirnoff? ŒŒAs you pronounce it like “shirt” (comment box somehow does not allow me to insert that “s” symbol) Smeernov.

    Anyhow, I am not genius at that, so YouTube link should give you an idea.

    It's like “Smile” (sm + irnoff) :-)

    Ah, yeah, smirnoff not schmirnoff, where “schmirnoff” would sorta be like a German way of speaking as in “Schommer.”

    I would have pronounced it schmirnoff if I saw the “sch” though. I would probably also pronounce it wrong if someone else in the room was saying schmirnoff just because it still sorta rolls off the tongue and you'd probably mimic the sound since it almost could be sch…

    But, now I understand. Using the companies product trailers is usually the best way to get it right though!
