ABV 14: Coffee Liqueur in White Russians

White Russian’s are a staple cocktail and will continue to be a very popular with to consume vodka and coffee liqueur. It only seems appropriate to test it against our coffee liqueurs: Kamora, Kapali, Kahlua, Tia Maria and Patron XO Cafe.

They all have their own flavor profile, which one is worthy in the cocktail?

    Kahlua and alcohol..

Well, what did you expect when you buy potent version? :-) You should've used original Kahlua.

I don't think the alcohols a deterrent, I think it simply needs a bit of balance with some nice intense flavors, more like the Patron XO Cafe. I guess I just expected “more” – especially if I'm buying a more costly coffee liqueur. If you're just getting a higher proof, why not just use a bottle of vodka to make up the difference than spending the cash on the kahlua ;-)

It seems you rather enjoy White Rock Distilleries products the people over there must be pretty good judges of awesome.

Ryans, Kapali, FireWater. and many others….. it sucks the dist. companies in MN only carry a tiny selection of what white rock offers.
