ABV 39: Spiced Rum Tasting/Review II

This week we’re busting through a few more spiced rums we’ve got in the house. The rums we’re tasting include Captain Morgan Private Stock, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Spiced Jack No. 94 and the last winner Sailor Jerry.

You can go to checkout Episode 29 for our last spiced rum tasting. Note: Please excuse the crappy audio recording as Jennifer forgot to record the audio portion from our good system, all we had was the backup camera audio version which is “dirty” and a bit noisy. The next episode will be okay though.

Sadly, Ron Diaz Spiced Rum was not in this mix.
I have had many a blind Spiced rum tasing's at my house, and Sailor Jerry, Captain Morgan, and Captain Jack all Fall Flat on their face.
Ron Diaz Spiced Rum is a unanimous decision in the best tasting spiced rum every time I have had a Blind Spiced Rum Tasting.

Try it for yourself and let the rum speak for itself.

I live in Canada and I pay around 50 USD for a bottle of private stock, I still think it is worth every penny. By far the best spiced rum out there.

Where do yuy guys buy Private Stock? .de supplier said that it's no longer made or something like that.

P.S. New intro music sounds like something from gaming podcast (if ther would be any).

They carry it at the NH liquor store :)

You can see it in all its glory on their price list :) http://www.nh.gov/liquor/pl05.shtml

I'll have to seek it out online, they don't have that at the NH liquor store.

I kinda knew it. I have discovered Captain Morgan only a while ago (might sound weird but here in Germany CM is pretty new) and I found it to be delicous. We've got a supermarket and I'm in charge of the alcohol so I figured I finally had to try that hyped Captain Morgan. Tryed it with Coke and it was awesome, tryed it with peach ice tea (the carbonated Lipton one in the can) and it's just as awesome! In fact I found it that amazing (never had a spiced rum before) that I found it hard to believe that there's a better one.
Unfortunately, there's no private stock avaible in Germany (US and China only…China of all countries weirdly) but now I might just try to import some. I just hope the taxes won't be as brutal as I expect them to be!

I’d cleanse my palate before tasting each one.  Rinse your mouth out with take a bite of a saltine and rise out your mouth with water.
