Love that you are finally doing single malts. There is just one problem you were tasting 2 highland scotches against a speyside (Glenfiddich which is pronounced Glenfiddik). that's a bit like putting Jack Daniels up against a burbon.

Thanks! Yeah, we went more from a “price” perspective than a highland vs. something else. JD, to me, is so mass marketed that I think people “know” what they're getting. I mean, aren't they advertising right now with Kid Rock as a mascot?

From a scotch perspective, so many people go in and just pick a brand based on price, not based on knowledge. Hopefully next time we'll get yet another brand/style to put up against them and see what we think of its taste comparisons.

Great look forward to it! just stay away from the Islay Scotches unless your doing an all islay tasting, it will stick out like a sore thumb and the peat will prevent you from tasking pretty much anything else.
